I absolutely love this “memory jar” idea. Throughout the year, record special days or funny things that occurred onto slips of paper and store them in a jar. At the end of the year(or whenever you need a pick-me-up), read through them all and enjoy!
“I was thinking about the finality of it all. How somebody can leave your world in the blink of an eye and be gone forever. It’s sad, it’s too enormous to think about. It’s too hard. And then you’re just supposed to go on, right? Like, just deal with it. I mean, you’re supposed to be sad for as long as the flowers last. And then time to go back to telling jokes and reminiscing about the old days. I don’t have any jokes to tell. As a matter of fact, I hope I never hear another joke as long as I live. And the old days are just that, they’re old days that are gone.”—One Tree Hill (via aeloquence)
Icaro Doria, a Brazilian man, working for a magazine in Portugal started this campaign using real data from the UN and flag images, he’s created whats known as Meet the World. The colors within the flags from its respective country are used to represent current, geographical relevant issues. Take a look.
This is a cool idea. I don’t know how accurate the U.S. statistics are, but it could be that because I’m a Middle Eastern Politics major I am just more in a culture that has to know where Iraq is.
“Long distance is hard. You have to trust that as you each change on your own, your relationship will also change along with you. It takes hope, good humor, and idealism. It takes a massive dose of courage to protect the relationship at all odds. It is hard, but worth it. You’ll both be stronger as a result.”—Craig M. Mullaney, The Unforgiving Minute: A Soldier’s Education (via simply-quotes)
